Elected Officers 2023-2024
Scott is a 2015 co-founding member, and has been serving as F&H President since then. From its inception, the idea has been to continue what they had started at the VFW Men's Auxiliary. Helping Veterans and their families when in need. F&H continues to further thank and honor Veterans for their selfless service to the United States of America.
Having a long history of volunteering, most notably, Scott served for over 22 years as a firefighter and EMT with the Chaska Fire Department. He has also served as President of the Chaska VFW Men's Auxiliary. Currently, Scott is a
member of the Chaska Lions and the Chaska American Legion Son's of the Legion.
During the "day", Scott's job is Regional Sales Director for Amkus Rescue Systems, which involves managing Fire/Rescue Equipment Dealers with 120 sales representatives in eight states.
Spending time with his family, hunting, camping, and fishing are things Scott enjoys, along with a "weird" passion for old Volkswagen Beetles. He still owns a 1966 bug! One of his favorite things to do is BBQ, and he does some catering for friends and family. His music of choice is classic rock and for TV, you'll usually find Scott watching or listening to the Twins, Wild, Vikings, or watching documentaries and cooking shows. According to Scott, "I love to eat BBQ, shore-lunch on a Canadian lake, a good Chicago Hot Dog, steak, chicken, pasta...my wife's cupcakes....what else is there?" Favorite vacation spots are numerous. His place up by Mille Lacs Lake, Rio Grand Valley, TX, Montana....especially Glacier National Park, Playa del Carmen, and always...fishing in northern Canada.
Co-founding member, Wally McLean, has been serving as Flags and Honor Vice President since its inception in 2015. Coming from a military family, he was taught to always pay full respect to all veterans. “Flags and Honor is a great organization that focuses on supporting all veterans and their families. Keeping this support in our community is a service I enjoy helping to provide,” he says. Wally also notes that the people within the organization are a big part of why he wants to be a part of F&H.
After volunteering as a firefighter and EMT on the Chaska Fire Department for 25 years, Wally retired in 2010.
He currently is a member of the Chaska American Legion Sons of the Legion and has been a past member of the Chaska VFW Men’s Auxiliary, serving as Secretary and Treasurer.
During the week, Wally designs/manages projects and supports building automation for HVAC/Exhaust systems throughout the State. Wally adds, “I like to be the busing service for some of the grand kids on occasion, as well.”
Wally and his wife try to keep up with three daughters and their families, which have grown to include five grandchildren, to date. In the summer you can find him at their campsite near Garrison, MN, and his winter is spent on Upper Red Lake ice fishing.
Listening to 70’s Classic Rock music and classic radio programs (1940’s and 50’s) is something Wally enjoys while driving throughout the state for work or pleasure. Watching a good western or WWII movies/documentaries on TV are his favorites, when he gets the chance.
